To enable adults to acquire basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
needed to participate fully in society, and to increase
awareness of literacy needs in our community.
Cheryl Reinke-Peck
1957-2011
On Friday morning, November 4, 2011, The Literacy Council lost a phenomenal speller,
a strong advocate for individuals who struggled with the written word and a dear friend.
Cheryl Reinke-Peck is pictured here in the way we love to remember her the most,
smiling from ear to ear and ever so jubilant as she posed with her first place medal
just having assisted her other two teammates in bringing home the GOLD for the Literacy
Council’s Spelling Bee team.
Cheryl we will try our best to maintain that reverent honor
over the coming years. Watch over us from above. You tiptoed across our hearts and
touched us with your infectious laughter. Simply put, we were not quite ready for you to go.
