Dear friends,
You are reading a shortened version of our
newsletter, THE LITERACY BUZZ. This issue contains
timely announcements about some activities that are
taking place during the month of November. This
(little) edition is to inform you of these fundraising
events that will greatly benefit our agency and to
invite you to be our guest at an upcoming evening Open
House celebration. Read on for the fun
details...

 Open House Book
Bee
"Bee" our guest at a FREE one hour
experience that takes place right at our
agency. Learn about what it is like to be 55
years old and learning how to read for the very first
time... hear testimonials from hard working students and
passionate volunteer tutors. Travel on a journey
through literacy as the staff share stories about "A Day
in the Life of the Council." Light refreshments
will be served. Friday, November 7,
2008. We do our best to begin and end on
time: 11:00 a.m. until

 Benefit Days with
Borders
Borders has given us a wonderful opportunity to
fund raise. Every time a shopper uses one of our
special 10% off coupons, we benefit! Over two days
of shopping, the Literacy Council will receive a
percentage of every coupon sale. The more people
who shop with the coupon, the more we benefit.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. Our Border's
event is this coming Friday and Saturday, November 7 and
8, 2008. You could assist us getting the word out
by simply sending this newsletter to everyone on your
mailing list, OR by sending it to anyone you think would
appreciate an enticement to shop at Borders on those two
dates. If you prefer having a stack of coupons to
distribute, just let us know and we will be happy to get
them to you. Call us at 513.943.3741, or you can
simply print out multiple copies of the coupons that can
be found on our web site.

The Literacy Council takes great
pleasure in hosting a Thanksgiving Holiday Open House in
YOUR honor. We wish to express our gratitude to
the many individuals who roll up their sleeves and
commit their time to the agency's mission. This
Open House is dedicated to our many friends and
families, volunteers, tutors, students, and the
countless individuals from the community who have helped
The Literacy Council grow over the years. We
celebrate this Thanksgiving Holiday with heartfelt
gratitude for your support and enthusiasm for our little
agency. Please mark your calendar for our
Thanksgiving Open House and stop by. Stay as
little or as long as you desire. We will enjoy
