Spring Auction
Thanks
Dear friend,

I invite you to attend our Spring Auction and Skyline Chili Fund Raiser on Tuesday evening, April 20, 2010.  If you have never attended an auction, based on comments from the one we held in December, it is a very fun experience!!!  If you attend auctions regularly, then you are in for a real treat watching auctioneer Jim Poe and his apprentice, RJ Vilardo in action.  (Hmmm, why does that second guy's last name sound so familiar?)

You can help us out in four different ways:
  1. Forward this information to everyone on your email address list.
  2. Attend this fund raiser on Tuesday evening, April 20th
  3. Invite a group of friends to accompany you.
  4. Donate any new or gently used items to our auction.
May the wonder of READING always be yours,
Susan

 Spring Dinner & Auction

Adult Literacy Auction
and Skyline Chili Fund Raiser

The Literacy Council of Clermont and Brown Counties is hosting a spring Auction on Tuesday evening April 20, 2010 to help support the agency's mission of teaching adults how to read.  Skyline Chili will be served thanks to Keith Burkhart of Milford Skyline Chili.   Doors open at 5:30 for the meal and previewing of the auction items.  The auction begins at 6:30. Tickets for dinner are $10.00 and should be purchased ahead of time by calling Susan at 513.943.3741.  There is not a fee to attend the auction only.  The Auction and dinner will be held at the Milford Community Firefighter Hall in the Milford Shopping Center, 1005 Lila Avenue (Route 50), Milford, OH.

A featured auction item is "The Last Supper" with over 250 hours of labor by local artist Gary Conn. Gary has given the Literacy Council a creation of 800 intricately hand-carved pieces. It is a 28" x 36" wall hanging. The frame is all wood and hand-made. It is valued at $1,500.00.

The Literacy Council is a not-for-profit volunteer driven agency that provides FREE one-on-one tutoring in reading, writing and spelling skills to adults who cannot read in Clermont and Brown Counties. The council meets people every day who are taking that initial step in changing their lives forever. Proceeds from the auction will guarantee the continued education of each student in the program.
