Spring Auction Item Photos
Dear friend,

In the last week some fabulous items have come in for the Auction the Literacy Council is hosting on Tuesday evening at the Milford Community Firefighter Hall.  These following pictures are just a sampling of what will be auctioned off.  I do not profess to be a very good photographer either!

May the wonder of READING always be yours,
Susan

Spring Auction - Items

A sampling

"The Last Supper" hand carved by Gary Conn
800 pieces - Meticulous handiwork - has a reserve of $1,500.00

Painted by Eberhard in 1969, original watercolor, Stonelick Covered Bridge

Heavy item - Metal plate on phone says:
Crescent Phone, Bat # 17, Inst. # 1993
The Cadiz Electric Company, Ohio.
Mouth piece is chipped. Rest appears in super condition.

Very old looking tools. Farm or Carpenter??? Saw - still sharp. Wood seems in good condition. Sander/Smoother/Shaver - has attachments, says "Craftsman" Circular piece in front says YANKEE on the top of the round handle.

2 small lanterns like one on R. Says DIETZ. 1 Large lantern with circular backing. Says Kemp Manufacturing Toronto on metal plate.

Aladdin style lamps. Look copper. T-pot style. Larger pot is heavy and all bears no marks.  Mug appears to be copper and is engraved with someone's name.

Brass Chandelier - looks much newer. No name on it.

Brass Chandelier with rose glass bowl shaped cover. Pulley style with chains. Possibly 1880.

Firefighter Hose Nozzle. Markings: 12-42. Then another number on the side - 252. Hewitt Rubber Corporation. Heavy and fascinating.

Just arrived. Two pieces, bad photography. Table (center) mahogany and possibly turn of the century. Legs unfold and turn into a much longer table. Piece on far left is either a small sized desk or dressing table walnut - no mirror. Possibly 1920's.

Description Only:

  • A beautiful Cherry wood 5 drawer chest hand made (not manufactured) in possibly 1860.  Needs some polish but in beautiful condition.  Two side by side drawers on top and three large ones underneath.  All knobs intact.
  • Clear Depression glass pieces with flower pattern.  Small bowls and 6 custard cups.  Cups have more of a bluish tint.  Very good condition.
  • One of the Literacy Council students, who has been a widower for about 6 years, gave us most of his wife's costume and fine jewelry.  She loved pearls and glass butterflies.  There is a very large amount of jewelry to see.

Lots More Available - See you Tuesday Evening at 5:30 p.m.
